FAQ's

  • What is a Certified Lactation Counselor?
A Certified Lactation Counselor is a designation from The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice to describe a professional who has demonstrated the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide clinical breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding / lactation. CLCs provide one-on-one virtual or in-person lactation consultations, breastfeeding / pumping classes, and support to empower moms.
  • Should I wait until I have my baby to take a breastfeeding class?
First - Congratulations! Our recommendation is to take your class prior to giving birth. The reason for this, there are things you can do to help create a successful journey from the moment you give birth! Additionally, classes are a great way to get others involved and communicate support needed to prepare you and them for what is to come.
  • Do you conduct virtual sessions as a Covid protection?
I have times blocked out for virtual and in-person sessions.
  • How do I know if I need a Lactation Counselor?
When in doubt, just reach out! If you are in pain, if nursing or pumping is uncomfortable, if your baby is not gaining appropriately, or if you plan on weaning and just need help; we are open!
